The Team

Alan

Alan initially had a fire-fighting background until an accident forced early retirement.
Since then, Alan has moved into the Hospital environment, working in several acute wards, including Intensive Trauma Units, Intensive Care Units, Mental Health Hospitals, and, last but not least, Emergency Departments.
Over the last couple of years, Alan has diversified out of the hospital environment (Not fully) and has started working in the pre-hospital c has started care industry whilst working for the NHS in the community wound clinics.
He is a Volunteer Community First Responder for the local ambulance service. He has also completed his Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) level 3 qualification, but more so his First Responder Emergency Care level 4 (FREC4). He has his Safe Administration of Live-Saving Medications (SALM) qualification and is working on his Blue Lights qualification  and C Class driver’s licence.

Kirsty

Kirsty came from a background of caring for Adults with learning difficulties until the devastating events of 2020 started, where she changed her path within the NHS. She joined her local trust and started working on the wards, gaining valuable experience.
One day, she came upon an overtime shift in the emergency department. With Alan’s encouragement, she took the shift and hasn’t looked back since. She is now employed full-time as an Emergency Department Assistant. Within the department, Kirsty has attended several courses that have included serious trauma, RESUS training, Bloods, and Cannulation
So that they could spend more time together, Kirsty joined Alan on the FREC framework and completed her FREC3 with the hopes of achieving her FREC4 soon.

Betty

Okay, Betty might not be a real person, but she has a personality. Betty is Medic On_tours’ main form of transport. She might not be pretty to look at (at the moment), but she is a real workhorse, and we love her.

Betty may not be an ambulance, but she is warm and dry, and with her awning, she provides the team with a central location to treat people with some privacy.

More importantly, she has a cooker and a kettle to make a nice, warm cup of tea.

Everyone Else

Although Medics On-Tour is a husband-and-wife duo, they know many people in the industry. They can call upon others with differing qualifications and experiences to help out as and when their situation requires them.
Medics On-Tour not only possess a high level of expertise, but they can also deploy this versatile skill set to cover a wide range of events and situations.
They can call upon the assistance of the following skill sets, to name a few first responders: FREC3/4, ECAs, Technicians, Paramedics, and Emergency Nurses.
They can also use a team of qualified Fire Marshals if needed.
